RADICL and HackerRank partnership announcement

The world of work is undergoing a seismic shift. Employee expectations have changed, many traditional work models are obsolete, and the myth that workers are less productive outside of the office has been debunked.

Add to the equation talent shortages and an even faster pace of innovation fueled by AI, and it’s a real challenge for even the most experienced people teams to keep up.

Though the world of work has never been more uncertain, one thing remains evident: organizations that embrace change by putting their people first and focusing on skills can build a culture of trust, connection, and innovation that will help them come out on top.

That’s why we’re excited to announce an official partnership between HackerRank, the developer skills company and leader in technical assessments and interviews, and RADICL, a global employee experience advisory company.

Together, HackerRank and RADICL will help people teams connect with and support strong, technically skilled talent through a refined focus on individual and organizational values, purpose, whole-person experience and culture fit.

Here’s How It Works

Through the partnership, customers gain access to a one-stop shop for all their talent development needs. HackerRank’s assessments provide valuable insights into the technical competencies of employees, while RADICL’s expertise helps companies design a decentralized, framework-based approach centered on a whole-person experience strategy.

This collaboration will enable companies to enhance their skills strategy, bolster their talent development initiatives, and equip employees with the necessary skills to thrive in today’s fast-paced and dynamic business environment.

“This partnership between RADICL and HackerRank will redefine the work experience journey, from candidate through employee,” said RADICL co-founder Dan Riley. “Though the world of work has never been more uncertain, one thing is clear — organizations who find the best talent, and consistently inspire change by putting their people first and building a culture of trust, connection and transparency will come out on top.”

“I am incredibly excited about our partnership with RADICL. Our shared passion for empowering organizations to attract, hire and retain talent through positive candidate and employee experiences will reshape the hiring and talent management space,” said Jesse Sims, Head of Strategic Alliances at HackerRank.

Partnership between best-in-class coding assessment and best-in-class behavioral assessment ensures complete view of soft and technical skills

HackerRank, the developer skills company, and Harver, the industry-leading hiring solution helping organizations optimize their talent decisions, this week announced a working partnership between the two companies, designed to provide a full evaluation of job candidates’ hard and soft skills. This new collaborative effort enables HR professionals to seamlessly and simultaneously leverage assessment solutions from both companies to better predict who will perform better and stay longer within the business.

The need for strong, well-rounded talent has never been higher. With stark competition for the most in-demand roles across industries, talent acquisition teams need to ensure quality of hire while differentiating their candidate experience. Organizations want to know that their potential candidates have both the tech skills and behavioral traits to succeed in a chosen role. And since no two roles demand the exact same make-up of soft and hard skills, organizations require a solution in their HR tech stack that seamlessly evaluates across both skill sets for each role.

With HackerRank’s best-in-class coding assessment and Harver’s best-in-class behavioral assessment, companies get a complete view of their candidates. Harver’s fast and engaging assessments effectively predict candidate fit — and help eliminate bias in the hiring process. Meanwhile, HackerRank’s skills data and measurement tools allow hiring teams to confidently find, hire, and hold onto technical talent with the right skills and at the right level.

“We are thrilled to partner with HackerRank to offer our clients access to the most comprehensive technical skills assessments available in the market,” said Scott Landers, Chief Executive Officer at Harver. “By combining our innovative soft skills technology with HackerRank’s best-in-class hard skills technology, clients can now assess candidates in a more holistic way, ensuring they find the right candidate for their team.”

Harver and HackerRank are both dedicated to transforming talent acquisition and development processes; this partnership represents a significant step towards providing a quality, streamlined evaluation process, helping clients find the right candidates for their teams.

“This collaboration combines our shared vision of empowering organizations to find and hire top talent efficiently, while maintaining an unwavering focus on skills and potential,” said Jesse Sims, Head of Strategic Alliances at HackerRank. “With Harver’s cutting-edge behavioral assessments and HackerRank’s leading technical assessments, we are poised to redefine the future of talent acquisition.”

Today, HackerRank is proud to announce a new partnership with Criteria, a market-leading SaaS hiring success platform. The partnership will allow HackerRank and Criteria customers to identify the best talent with a more comprehensive, data-driven view of their technical candidates by cross-promoting the companies’ assessments.

HackerRank customers will now have the opportunity to obtain a more complete view of their technical candidates by offering Criteria’s comprehensive suite of game-based assessments, which include cognitive aptitude, customizable personality, and behavior assessments. By adding these types of assessments to the hiring process, HackerRank customers will now have a fast, easy, and reliable way to identify candidates who are likely to perform more effectively.

“Our shared vision and commitment to empowering organizations to make data-driven, fair, and inclusive hiring decisions make this partnership a natural fit. Together, we are poised to redefine the hiring process, addressing the challenges faced by recruiters, technical hiring managers, and candidates alike,” said Jesse Sims, Head of Strategic Alliances at HackerRank.

In tandem, Criteria customers will now have access to HackerRank’s best-in-class coding assessments, which include a library of more than 3,100 pre-built coding questions that measure 170-plus skill areas for all levels. Commonly assessed job families include software engineers, web developers, QA and testing, cloud and DevOps, data science and ML, and cybersecurity. HackerRank’s assessments complement the Criteria assessments a hiring team already uses, resulting in a more scalable, valid, and efficient hiring process for technical roles.

“The timing of this union is unique in that it fulfills an almost identical need for each company,” says Josh Millet, Founder and CEO of Criteria. “We were fielding inquiries from our client base and prospects about the ability to offer technical/coding skills assessments (which we do not offer) and HackerRank was receiving requests for non-technical types of assessments.”

Currently, both Criteria and HackerRank assessments can be accessed through one of their mutual integration partners.

This strategic partnership aims to revolutionize the way companies evaluate technical candidates by providing a comprehensive, data-driven view of their skills. By combining their respective assessments, Criteria and HackerRank empower organizations to identify the most qualified talent efficiently and effectively.

The partnership between Criteria and HackerRank marks a significant milestone in the realm of technical candidate evaluation. As companies strive to attract and retain top talent, this collaboration promises to streamline the hiring process and enable better-informed hiring decisions. With Criteria and HackerRank working together, businesses can ensure they are identifying the most qualified candidates who will excel in their technical roles and contribute to long-term success.

Strong technical talent is the foundation of success for any modern company, and finding candidates who are the right match is difficult and inefficient, especially in these uncertain markets.

To provide organizations with a more robust recruiting solution in 2023 and beyond, HackerRank, the global leader in technical assessments and interviews, has joined forces with Celential.ai, the industry-leading technical sourcing solution. This partnership will streamline the recruiting process for hiring teams and enable them to fill technical roles faster with the most qualified candidates.

“It’s a natural partnership because our solutions are highly complementary,” says Andrew Dong, CEO and Co-founder of Celential.ai. “Celential helps hiring teams build a strong, sustainable tech talent pipeline at the top of the funnel, while HackerRank empowers them to seamlessly and efficiently evaluate candidates’ tech skills. We’re working together to create a new standard for tech hiring.”

Source and Evaluate Top-Tier Talent at Scale

Celential.ai helps auto-pilot tech talent sourcing for hiring teams, saving 90% of the time compared to traditional search and outreach methods. Powered by AI, Celential identifies candidates right for the job, team, and company with 80% accuracy, and engages them with hyper-personalized pitch messages at scale. Hiring teams receive candidates interested in interviewing with them in less than a week — with no new tools or workflows.

Candidates who pass the introductory interview are then evaluated and benchmarked by HackerRank’s platform, with pre-built or customized coding assessments up to the highest levels of seniority. Combined with HackerRank’s 24×7 global support, 99.5% uptime, and industry-leading plagiarism and proctoring tools built with machine learning, hiring teams can significantly reduce the time it takes to find candidates with the right technical skills for in-depth engagement.

“HackerRank’s mission is to accelerate the world’s innovation through skills-based hiring,” said Jesse Sims, Vice President of Strategic Alliances at HackerRank. “Celential.ai joins us in that mission. With solutions designed to build highly skilled talent pipelines, they make for a key partner as we set out to change the technical hiring status quo.”

Gain Unprecedented Insight Into Candidates

Celential.ai’s powerful tech sourcing capability is underpinned by its proprietary Talent Graph, which provides deep insight into candidates, such as career trajectory, domain expertise, and skill proficiency far beyond what’s available on their social networks or resumes. The Talent Graph is vertically optimized for technical recruiting with thousands of data sources and purpose-built machine learning algorithms. It currently covers 10M+ fully indexed tech talent across the U.S., Canada, and Latin America, with more regions launching soon.

HackerRank offers by far the most extensive set of skills assessments in the tech industry, from popular programming frameworks to niche languages. Each assessment is based on a thorough job analysis and input from subject-matter experts to ensure that the skills required in a role are actually being tested. Hiring teams can access complete assessment results, skills data, and actionable insights via its seamless developer skills platform.

Key Benefits for Celential.ai and HackerRank customers

1. Reduce Time to Hire With Streamlined Workflows

With high-quality, fully-vetted talent on demand, customers are freed up to build meaningful candidate interactions and rapidly close hires. Hiring teams and engineering leaders save time by interviewing only the best candidates in an efficient process.

Candidates are met with a great first impression by receiving highly relevant, personalized outreach messaging that speaks to their interests and best career moves. The candidate preparation exercises and focused assessments are highly tailored to evaluate the exact skills used on the job. Hiring teams will be able to provide candidates with a quick and customized hiring experience that stands out from the competition.

HackerRank is proud to announce Oracle Recruiting as our latest integration partner. Customers using Oracle Recruiting can now connect their applicant tracking systems directly to HackerRank. With this integration, we support hiring teams in assessing technical candidates natively in Oracle.

HackerRank makes technical hiring seamless by integrating our core workflows with the HR tech ecosystem, including tools like applicant tracking systems, talent intelligence tools, interview scheduling tools, and more.

Supporting the Oracle Recruiting Experience

Oracle Recruiting, part of Oracle Cloud HCM, is one of the most complete and innovative recruiting solutions on the market. Customers using Oracle Recruiting source better quality candidates, improve time to hire, and reduce recruiting expenses. With HackerRank and Oracle Recruiting, customers can standardize their global technical recruiting processes.

HackerRank integrates with Oracle Recruiting to enable hiring teams to set up technical recruiting workflows. With these workflows, users can set up automated HackerRank tests and generate remote interview links directly from Oracle Recruiting. This empowers global teams to unify their technical recruiting workflows, while giving teams the flexibility to customize their own criteria for assessing candidates in the recruiting process.

HackerRank’s Developer Skills Platform supports two types of assessments. Both of these types of assessments are supported via integration with Oracle Recruiting.

HackerRank Tests

  1. Includes asynchronous coding tests, code review questions, MCQs and more
  2. Includes real-world, project-based questions

HackerRank Interviews

  1. Includes synchronous interviews with single or multiple interviewers
  2. Provides a fully functioning IDE that allows for pair programming, real-time whiteboarding, and diagramming

The HackerRank + Oracle Recruiting Workflow

Within Oracle Recruiting, users can set up triggers for candidates to receive HackerRank tests or interviews. Assessments can be sent as a part of the recruiting setup or presented as a part of the job application itself.

The End-to-End Technical Recruiting Workflow

Stage 1: Setup

  • Hiring team creates a custom HackerRank test
  • Recruiter maps the HackerRank test and interview to the Oracle Recruiting requisition

Stage 2: Screening

  • Candidate receives a test invite from HackerRank via email
  • Candidate completes the test on HackerRank
  • HackerRank posts the results on the candidate’s Oracle Recruiting profile
  • Evaluators assess the candidate’s results

Stage 3: Interviewing

  • Candidate proceeds to the interview stage
  • A unique HackerRank interview link becomes available in Oracle Recruiting
  • Interviewers conduct an interview with the candidate
  • Post-interview, notes and feedback from interviewers are available in Oracle Recruiting

Recruiters can now focus on a candidate-first hiring process instead of switching between platforms. All of a candidate’s test and interview information is available within their Oracle Recruiting profile. Here is a screenshot of a candidate’s profile who has completed one assessment in the hiring process:

This workflow reduces operational inefficiencies and helps recruiters avoid unnecessary platform switching, helping them focus on finding the right candidates.

Where Can I Learn More About Using This Integration?

HackerRank has built this integration with ease of use in mind. Please find more information on the setup and user guides in our support documentation.

Today, we’re proud to announce that LinkedIn Talent Hub will be joining us as our newest applicant tracking system (ATS) partner. The integration allows recruiters and hiring managers to schedule CodePair interviews directly from LinkedIn Talent Hub. HackerRank is proud to be one of the selected launch partners for LinkedIn Talent Hub.

About LinkedIn Talent Hub

LinkedIn Talent Hub is the only applicant tracking system (ATS) built on the LinkedIn network. LinkedIn Talent Hub launched to the public on September 25th, 2019.

LinkedIn Talent Hub provides a single platform to source, manage, and hire candidates. And it’s built on the LinkedIn network—which means it leverages insights from its 645M members to provide suggested job descriptions and talent pool insights directly in the platform.

How LinkedIn Talent Hub works

The results is an all-in-one platform that drives recruiter and hiring manager alignment from sourcing to eventual hire.

LinkedIn Talent Hub and HackerRank for Work

To create a seamless technical interview process for Talent Hub users, HackerRank is partnering with LinkedIn to integrate CodePair with Talent Hub. As a part of the integration, LinkedIn Talent Hub users will be able to schedule and start technical video interviews directly from Talent Hub.

How CodePair supports the Talent Hub experience

CodePair is a technical video interviewing platform that allows hiring teams to conduct effective technical interviews from anywhere. Leveraging a library of 1,500+ questions, CodePair lets teams conduct 1:1 or panel interviews for technical candidates.

With a real coding environment shared between the interviewers and the candidate, plus audio, video, and text chat, CodePair is an immersive interview platform that offers the insights of a pair programming exercise with the candidate convenience of a remote interview. It helps hiring teams evaluate candidate skills in-depth while prioritizing a candidate-centric approach:

Interviewer's interface in CodePair, showing interviewer's notes

With this new integration, users can now connect Talent Hub directly to CodePair for easier scheduling. Recruiters can schedule a CodePair session directly from Talent Hub, while hiring managers can start a scheduled CodePair session from within Talent Hub.

The Talent Hub + CodePair integration workflow

From Talent Hub, users can schedule a CodePair interview directly from a message.

To start, as a best practice, we suggest Creating a CodePair Interview stage within your hiring process to track which candidates you are actively interviewing. You can then schedule CodePair interviews with those candidates. Here’s how it works:

  1. Once you’ve identified the profile of the candidate you’d like to interview with CodePair, choose “Message”
  2. From the Compose Message pop-out, click the calendar icon at the bottom of the window.
  3. Click the settings icon, then turn on “Use Video Conferencing”
  4. From the Video Conferencing dropdown, select CodePair from HackerRank
  5. Write your message to the candidate & send

The result is a simplified candidate experience through LinkedIn Messages. Once the hiring manager or recruiter sends the request to schedule an interview, the candidate can schedule an interview from your team’s available time slots directly through LinkedIn.

How to connect Talent Hub to HackerRank for Work

Those already using LinkedIn Talent Hub can connect Talent Hub to HackerRank for Work through the Integrations section of LinkedIn Talent Hub:

  1. From LinkedIn Talent Hub, choose your profile on the top right hand side of the screen and select “Settings”
  2. On the left hand side, select “Integrations” from under the “Advanced” menu
  3. Find the “CodePair from HackerRank” integration from the list and click “Authorize”
  4. When promoted, log into HackerRank for Work
  5. When prompted for permission to connect HackerRank for work, click “Allow”
  6. The integration is now authorized. CodePair will now show as an Authorized extension.

Note: You need administrator permissions on both HackerRank for Work and Linkedin Talent Hub in order to authorize this integration.

White text reading "Product Update IBM Kenexa BrassRing Integration" on blue background

Used by over 1,500 customers across industries and around the world, HackerRank is the industry-leading and enterprise-grade technical skill assessment platform.

With scalable team management, advanced compliance features, security and privacy controls, and a guaranteed 99.5% uptime, companies spend less time setting up and worrying about systems, and more time meeting hiring goals and shipping products.

We understand what it takes to build enterprise products and continuously focus on adding features to make our platform as robust and comprehensive as possible to power scaling businesses.

Today, we’re announcing the addition of IBM Kenexa BrassRing to our list of great ATS partners! Integrating an ATS with your skills assessment platform greatly streamlines the recruiting and hiring process. Take a look at the integrated workflow:

A flowchart showing how the BrassRing integration with Hackerrank works

Recruiter sends test invitations from within directly BrassRing - no need to navigate between systems

  • Rather than moving between BrassRing and HackerRank, which can both disrupt the recruiting workflow and increase the probability of data transfer errors, the recruiter can live within BrassRing.
  • In addition to simply sending invites, customers can also set time accommodations (allowing additional time for certain candidates*) a requirement for many enterprise customers with equal opportunity employment restrictions.

*Accommodation settings use percentage intervals (25%, 50%, 75% additional time provided)

Support for Candidates on Multiple Requisitions - a much better candidate experience and easier candidate management for your recruiters

  • If a Candidate applies to multiple jobs, they shouldn’t have to take more than one HackerRank assessment - now, test results will be sent to all requisitions relevant for a given candidate.
  • If a candidate has taken a test in the past and applies for new requisitions, the historical test result will be sent back to BrassRing, again improving candidate experience by eliminating the need to take the same assessment more than once.

Candidate receives the test invite from HackerRank via email - no surprises for your candidates

  • This is the standard HackerRank experience, easy and simple for the candidate to take their assessment.
  • After the candidate takes the assessment, the result is submitted and analyzed by HackerRank.

The assessment result is sent directly to BrassRing for recruiter review - all the information needed to move candidates forward lives in the ATS

  • From invite to result, the recruiter can stay within BrassRing to manage each candidate.
  • The candidate profile within BrassRing will be populated with the overall score, the percentage score, and a link to the assessment report in HackerRank (if the recruiter needs to take a deeper dive)
  • BrassRing Administrators can even set up automation based on the test results, advancing the candidate if they score well on the coding assessment.

Read more about our ATS integrations and their benefits here

We’ll continue posting additional enterprise product updates and best practices here on the blog, so check back in and see what exciting new features we have planned for later in the year.

Ready to implement BrassRing or want more information?

The best way to get BrassRing integrated with HackerRank is to contact your HackerRank customer success manager - they will give you more details.

If you’re not already a customer, we’d love to share more about the HackerRank platform - request a demo here and we’ll be in touch shortly.

Today marks an unprecedented event for higher education nationwide. The US Department of Education is giving up to $17 million in loans and grants to select, proven nontraditional education programs to offer student federal aid.

Until now, the government only allowed federal financial aid at traditional community colleges, universities and trade schools.

In partnership with nonprofit coding bootcamp Zip Code Wilmington, and Wilmington University, is proud to be one of fewer than 10 groups selected to pilot the new Educational Quality through Innovative Partnerships (EQUIP) program. Our job will be to assess Zip Code Wilmington’s coding curriculum.

See ED.gov’s official press release here.

EQUIP will Test the Validity of Bootcamps

This pilot initiative is one indication that the perception of bootcamps, and other non-traditional means of education, is changing.
Still, can you really trust coding bootcamps?

This question has been hotly debated in recent years. The number of bootcamp grads rose from 10,000 in 2015 to a projected 18,000 this year, yet the perception of some coding bootcamps as a means for proper training has been mixed. Skeptics are wary of for-profit unaudited bootcamps with claims of high success rates that cost tens of thousands of dollars. Still, some top employers like Google have reportedly hired bootcamp grads as of late.

“Unfortunately, traditional education is not always accessible to everyone who needs it,” said HackerRank CEO and Cofounder Vivek Ravisankar. “We’re excited to help change that through this partnership, which empowers low-income students with a new education model to improve their lives. This program helps to create opportunities for developers regardless of their backgrounds.”

The goal of this EQUIP initiative is test the fed’s hypothesis that—when paired with an independent auditor and accredited university—training bootcamps can prepare Americans with the skills they need for in-demand jobs affordably. If this pilot goes well, this could mean qualifying bootcamps nationwide could be adopted into the federal student aid system.

On Assessing Coding Bootcamp Students

Most bootcamps offer a certificate of completion. Coding challenges, on the other hand, offer a tangible result that bootcamp grads can show to prospective employers.

HackerRank has been the technology powering Zip Code Wilmington’s coding assessments for over a year now. Students solve HackerRank coding challenges both as part of their application to the highly selective program, and to benchmark their skills during the program.

“As these innovative programs continue to develop, it will be increasingly important to understand what an outcomes-based quality assurance system looks like for such programs,” says Under Secretary of Education Ted Mitchell. “I am encouraged to see that these colleges, providers, and quality assurance entities have stepped forward to provide models for doing so.”

How did ED choose which bootcamps get federal aid?

According to the ED press release last year, the criteria for selected non-accredited training programs was:

  • Innovative approach to helping students achieve positive outcomes
  • Equity and access, particularly for students from low-income backgrounds
  • Rigorous proposed quality assurance process
  • Affordability of the programs
  • Strong proposed student and taxpayer protections
  • Partnership with a Quality Assurance Entity (QAE) and an accredited university

Zip Code Wilmington is really unlike most coding bootcamps. First of all, it’s nonprofit. Second of all, its cost is very reasonable. The total tuition is $12,000. However, students pay $2,000 up front, and employers subsidize $10,000 upon hiring a graduate.

More on Zip Code’s selection and results:

  • In its last graduating class, Zip Code Wilmington had 250 applicants and only 25 students got in.
  • To date, Zip Code has graduated 66 students, with 60 grads in paid, full-time positions, earning over $62,000 per year
  • In fact, 16 students who were earning less than $10,000 before entering Zip Code Wilmington. Zip Code students earn, on average, less than $30,000 per year before Zip Code, and 3 months later, they’re placed in jobs earning an average over $60,000 per year.

“During our 3-month program, our students quit their jobs and work 80 to 100-hours per week,”says Melanie Augustin, Head of School at Zip Code Wilmington. “The EQUIP program will help our students focus on their studies with less financial stress, so they can increase their earning potential and make a better future for themselves and their families.”
